Welcome on our sites on “academic detox”.
In the past years we seen many “toxic trends” in academia: Those “poisons” range from assembly line research and conformity pressure, discouraged experts, “pimped” publication lists, mass publishing in predatory journals, mobbing by professors, up to bold falsifications of results.
We believe that many of these poisons can be traced back to the hyper-competition in the academic system as well as with its inherent quantification of the academic system as we detail in our manifesto.
On this website we aim to collect many good antidotes to make academia great again! If you are interested in joining the movement, please get in touch with Johannes Schöning. We have a email list to share thoughts as well as to propose antidotes for our website!
